World AIDS Day (1 Dec 2006)

People are still dying of AIDS around the world. HIV/AIDS is a health issue and should be treated like one. The local health authorities had been slow and conservative in their approach to the prevention of this disease. They choose to adopt a moralist approach, always playing the "conservative majority" card. These people who sit on the Health Promotion board should step off their moral high horse, get real and be objective. It's amazing how these people are doctors yet choose not to deal with the problem correctly.

According to the sex survey conducted by Durex, Singaporeans are indeed having more sex and guess what? More are not using condoms too! Perfect formula for the spread of HIV. If we do not get our act together and start educating our population, this terrible disease will eventually take its toll on the very people they try to protect. The conservative will take most of the blow due to lack of understanding of the disease. While these hypocrites continue to debate on what message is appropriate for the population, people continue to be infected. Enough said.

This World AIDS Day 1 Dec 2006, let us be more informed about HIV/AIDS. Let us have facts that save our lives rather than hold on our conservative views.

Everyone deserves to know the facts.
Everyone deserves the gift of life.
Put an end to stigmatization.

Boys' Night Out...

From JC camps to Keat Hong Camp and then to squeezing inside the same toilet at Clifford Pier weekend over weekend. Grumpy 7-11 fag and good 'ol mama friend. NUS, NTU bashes. Stopped by police after clubbing in school uniform etc.

We've come a long way.

No more clubbing for us. Or at least no more for this week till Christmas, the boys took a night off at J8.

And so we arrived at J8. After much deliberation of where to go, we decided to sit under the Golden Arches (again). We chatted and chatted. *and chatted*

Tristan came on the phone from New York. He sounded tired but will be back on Christmas. Aww.... just missing our KL trip.

We got bored and we made faces. What's next?

Strawberry Shortcake took us for a ride! Ee-arrr... so girrrl hor? The boys were up to it that night and we allowed SS to pull us along...Whee............ :P

ภาษาไทย ๔

My thai class buddy, goody-two-shoes Tien Chee. Thai 4 is nothing compared to my previous Thai lessons. Thai 4 is fun and stressful. No quizzes whatsoever but I seem to be having more problems reading thai text than the rest and the rest are already considering taking Thai 5??? Gosh... i'm sooooo dead. Nonetheless, Thai classes never fail to perk me up, always ending up talking to myself on my way home. Hehe.. :D สนุก ๆ

Everyone in the class except Khun William who was away on business. Teacher(Nook) is sooo pretty eh? :P

Yes nanny...

Crazy Horse cabaret won't be toned down for Singapore

What?! And this is NOT contrary to public interests? Isn't Singapore by and large a conservative society? My ass. Just this year, Safehaven wanted to organize a fund raising concert for Action For AIDS in which the famous gay duo Jason and deMarco is set to perform. MDA banned it just days before its debut. Hello? You're such a contradiction. Straight boobies shows are ok, but gay fund raisers are no-no.

Not to mention that AFA is a non-governmental organization and does not receive any money from the govt. Hey didn't someone from the government accuse AFA is not doing enough to educate and prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS? If the government truly cares for those suffering from HIV/AIDS, they should get down from the moral high horse and be objective.

HIV/AIDS is a health issue, NOT a moral issue.

Elections coming hor???

Welcome to SG!

A380 finally arrived in SG last Friday around 10am, as scheduled. Planes taking off Changi Airport at that time at to taxi to the runway at T1 for takeoff. Then at around 0955, it was as though the entire airport stood still for the landing of A380.

We checked out Gate F31, the only gate capable of serving the A380 with it modified 3 armed aerobridge. Cant see anything at all from the perimeter road fence we were at. Kenneth and I were busy talking to police trying to chase us away, stalling for time, then suddenly, out of the cloudy sky, two orange lights appeared and true enough, it was A380. It's finally here! Even the policemen trying to chase us away stopped grumbling and stared in wonder with us. I was filled with awe and elation, witnessing history in the making.

First to Fly A380

The Airbus A380 will make its debut appearance tomorrow in Changi Airport. Waye, knowing my obsession with planes, especially the A380 gave me a surprise yesterday, insisting to meet me at my office. It's gotta be one of the best presents I have ever received. Looks so nice on my table...

detached...

It's one of those days again. I feel completely detached from this world. Today's also dad and mum's wedding anniversary so as usual, we went out for dinner together. I watched everything that happened around me as though i was a bystander. As though i was watching the going-ons like a TV programme. Even the noise in the restaurant seemed unreal. Of course i participated in the conversation that went on but i there seems to be two persons inside me. One talking and the other observing. Just observing. Gawd, what's wrong with me? Everything is so unreal. Too many things to do too little time.

I desperately need to be in the right frame of mind before tomorrow. Need to make sure the rooms are painted. Food, drinks..argh..
